HILTON GARDEN INN EXPANDING
(AUBURN) - The Hilton Garden Inn of Auburn will be expanding its
facilities to include thirty more rooms in addition to the current
110 rooms and conference space. The original hotel, located on the
bank of the Androscoggin River, was constructed in 2002 with the
hopes that it would jump start the redevelopment of the Lewiston-
Auburn region.
The success of the hotel has warranted the need for the expansion.
The corporate offices of Hilton Hotels believes that because of the
high occupancy rates, the Auburn hotel could actually be losing business
by having to turn away potential reservations.
Wright-Ryan Construction, the Construction Manager of the original
project in 2002, will be performing the construction of the expansion.
Knowing the site and being familiar with the constraints gives the
firm a distinct advantage in managing the project successfully. "Having
a strong working relationship with the Owner and Architect has provided
a healthy exchange of ideas that has resulted in the best balance
of room features at the least cost per key," commented Project
Manager Pat Richter. The project is expected to begin in May and
continue through November.
