Central Lincoln County YMCA Breaks Ground on Discovery Village

The Central Lincoln County YMCA has broken ground on Discovery Village, a new nature-based childcare and learning center in Damariscotta, Maine. Wright-Ryan will serve as Construction Manager for this nature-based learning project.

Discovery Village will include four yurts connected by accessible boardwalks. The outdoor learning areas will feature nature trails, a mud kitchen, a log scramble, climbing elements, a tree deck, and spaces for gardening and hands-on exploration. Exciting features like these make CLC YMCA Discovery Village unique among early childhood centers.

The new center will welcome up to 55 children from six weeks to five years old. In addition, the Discovery Village will expand the CLC YMCA’s childcare capacity and provide local families with more access to nature-based early education.
