Historic Harlow Building
Location: Augusta
Architect: Winton Scott Architects
Photographer: Bernard Meyers
The project won the Historical Preservation Award from the Maine Historic Preservation Commission. The 42,000 square foot four-story structure regained its Romanesque copper flashing and metal ventilators in addition to the point supported glass window system and the rebuilt masonry exterior. All electrical, mechanical, HVAC and fire alarm systems were replaced with state-of-the-art energy efficient systems. The building is now home to the Maine Department of Conservation.
