Maine College of Art (MECA) consolidated its operation in a famous former department store in downtown Portland, and its presence has anchored the revitalization of the city center.  As the needs of the institution expanded, MECA hired Wright-Ryan as construction managers to assist in exploring strategies to better meet the needs of their students.  This resulted in a series of projects – a photo laboratory, a state-of-the-art auditorium, a café, a student center, administrative offices, computer labs, classrooms, a woodshop, and admissions renovations. All the while, we planned work around school vacations and ongoing studies.
